- THE ART OF THE SOUND
- Design: Héctor Antúnez & Thomas Busch
- Assignment: Proposal for the Türkiye Pavilion for the XIX Venice Biennale
- Location: Venice, IT
- Year: 2024
- The Art of Sound is a proposed installation for the Turkish Pavilion at the 2025 Venice Architecture Biennale, aligning with the exhibition's theme, "Intelligens. Natural. Artificial. Collective." This immersive experience celebrates Turkey's rich cymbal-making heritage, dating back to 1618, when alchemist Avedis Zildjian discovered a unique alloy for crafting cymbals. The installation features an architectural structure adorned with cymbals, creating a dynamic soundscape. Visitors are invited to interact with the cymbals using various instruments or their hands, producing resonant sounds that evoke the spirit of Turkish music and culture. This tactile engagement fosters a collective experience, embodying the interplay between intelligence, nature, and artificial creation. By integrating traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design, "The Art of Sound" offers a multisensory journey, highlighting the enduring legacy and global influence of Turkish cymbal-making.
